Quality Hotel Leangkollen is located in Asker, Norway and is a beautiful hotel in the Norwegian countryside. Situated at the top of a hill, this hotel is just 30 minutes drive from Oslo and has great views of the Oslo fjord. Surrounded by tall forestry and apple trees, this hotel is a perfect winter retreat. It has an outstanding à la carte restaurant, Storstua, which serves traditional Norwegian food with international influences. It has an amazing terrace with panoramic views and an open fire pit which is lit at night - perfect for warming you up in the -12°C weather.
There are 4 different room options available at this hotel: Standard Single Room, Standard Double Room, Standard Twin Room and Superior Twin Room. We stayed in Standard Double Room, which cost us just £103 per night. Our room was number 382, situated in a separate building from the main lobby, on the 3rd floor. The room was extremely nice, very clean and great facilities. It has a small wet-room, a standard sized double bed, a TV with various international channels and great views of the mountains. The staff were very friendly. We checked in to our room around 8pm, the lady on the reception was very friendly and gave us plenty of information about the hotel. She spoke great English, which was very helpful for us as we don't speak any Norwegian.
We ate breakfast in the restaurant every morning, but didn't try out the hotel restaurant for lunch or dinner. There are raving reviews about the lunch and dinner menu though, so if you get the chance then you must try it out! We must say the breakfast was exceptional - there were local food options as well as internationally found foods. Hot and cold self service buffet style breakfast with great views of the snowy slopes - what more could you ask for?
The theme of the hotel was perfect; old antiques relating to Norwegian history, timber paneled walls, fake fur rugs, oak furniture and more little touches which really created a great atmosphere in the hotel. This pet friendly hotel has a restaurant and a bar, as well as WiFi running throughout the hotel. The hotel comes with free parking and has an electric vehicle charging station as most vehicles in Norway are electric.
We 100% recommend staying at Quality Hotel Leangkollen and cannot wait to return. It was a perfect location situated on the top of the hill surrounded by a beautiful landscape.
