My American Journal

Hello everyone, my name is Jas! I’m Dec’s younger sister (had to get the younger in there,) I’m 26 and I work for the NHS in Neuro-Rehabilitation. I ,like Dec, adore food of all kinds! I suppose you could say it’s in our blood. I’m a keen baker and often bake for the family, I suppose you could say Dec's the savoury and I’m the sweet!  My favourite place to travel is America! 

I love the crazy manic way they live. I’ve been lucky enough to visit a few places in America, my favourite being Las Vegas! It’s crazy - it’s all systems go 24/7! I love the enormously sized portions of food that make you feel like you’re eating like a king (which we actually did when we watched the Tournament of the Kings at Excalibur). 

Every morning we woke up and headed straight to Denny’s! I love a ham and grilled cheese for breakfast! Unlimited refill Dr Pepper, oh I was living the dream. We did many wild and wonderful things whilst there, on our last night we did a moonlit  helicopter ride over the Las Vegas strip which was breathtaking, if you ever get the opportunity you have to do it! 

A fond memory I have is going to New York when I was around 11 with my family. We went to Arthur’s for Breakfast, My dad said order what you like! They proceeded to bring a basket of cakes, BREAKFAST CAKES?! Who knew we’d been missing out on those bad boys for so long! Well, safe to say my eyes lit up and dad gave us the go ahead! I then got a huge stack of pancakes and a jug, yes a jug, of maple syrup, and of course I ate the lot, rude not too! A trip I adored when in New York was the river cruise which showed us a range of landmarks including the Statue of Liberty, I’m pretty sure, 15 years later our mum and dad still have the picture on their fridge! 

My favourite food of all time has to be burger and chips, you can’t beat that classic, a massive juicy burger and a big landslide of chips! When it comes to food, our family have taught us to be a feeder, so the bigger the better just like the Americans! Christmas Day is a prime example of this, all the family come to mine, with me and Dec in the kitchen tag teaming our huge Christmas feast, that’s my idea of heaven for sure!

What’s next you may wonder? Well, myself, my boyfriend mark, his mum and step dad are going to visit Florida next October; the countdown is on! We’re huge Disney fans and I’m so excited to visit for the first time! Our first  taste of the Disney magic will be Disneyland Paris in 3 weeks! The excitement is real! Thanks for reading!
