A delightful stay at La Figuerola Hotel

La Figuerola Hotel & Restaurant; located in Vandellòs is a superb 4* hotel in the Spanish countryside. Built in a 6th century farmhouse, this hotel has plenty of character and would be a great choice for you and your family. The hotel opened in 2004 and has been growing in popularity ever since. They have plenty of amenities to offer, such as an indoor and outdoor pool, restaurant, bar and some quirky rooms. Located just 33 minutes away from the bustling town of Salou, this is a great location for you to stay if you're heading to PortAventura World or Ferarri Land just like we did. We stayed here in July 2023 and really enjoyed it.
There are quite a few room options available at this hotel: Double Room, Twin Room, Superior Room, Triple Room, Family Room or Suite. We stayed in double room with a mountain view, which cost us just £59 per night. Our room was number 210, situated on the 2nd floor, right at the end of the hallway on floor 2. The room is accessible via the stairs or a lift. The room itself was very clean; with terracotta coloured floors and funky blue and yellow tiles scattered around the bathroom. It was a great sized room; it measures at 30 meters squared. The room comes with some great features: flat screen TV (mainly Spanish channels, but they do have Netflix), fridge, bidet, air conditioning, free WiFi and a small balcony. The views of the surrounding mountains were beautiful - especially at sunset, you could sit on the balcony and watch the sunset of you could head to the in-house restaurant and sit outside. The staff were very friendly. We checked in to our room around 9pm, the lady on the reception was very friendly and gave us plenty of information about the hotel. She spoke great English, which was very helpful for us as we don't speak the best Spanish just yet! She answered any questions we had for her with a massive smile, a great representation for La Figuerola Hotel.
We didn't eat any food at their restaurant, however we have heard plenty of great reviews about the place (we were too busy in the theme parks for 10 hours a day drinking Slushies.) The Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They open for breakfast 8am until 10:30am, lunch 1pm until 3:30pm and dinner 8pm until 10:30pm, but they did mention at the reception that if you are visiting for dinner then you would have to make a reservation prior to visiting the restaurant.
La Figuerola Hotel & Restaurant is nestled in a great location if you're looking for a hotel slightly off the beaten track, then this is the hotel for you. It's just 10km from the beautiful beaches of Costa Daurada, 35km from the theme parks (Ferrari Land and PortAventura World) and 30 minutes drive from Castell de Miravet. They have 2 pools, an outdoor one with great mountain views or an indoor heated pool also with panoramic views. They also have a games room, library and a cafeteria; to keep all the family entertained.
We definitely recommend staying at La Figuerola Hotel & Restaurant. Anytime we are planning a trip to Salou, then this will definitely be the hotel we stay in. With its quirky character and alpine surroundings, it's a nature lovers paradise where one can truly immerse themselves in the beauty of Spain. We can't wait to return to this hotel, thank you La Figuerola Hotel & Restaurant!
