Well if you're like us, then luxury, exclusivity and paradise are a just a few words which come to mind if someone mentioned this beautiful country - and the hotel's on this list are exactly what you'd expect. We've decided to compile a list together of the best hotels/ resorts in the Maldives - if budget wasn't a factor. 

 

The Maldives is a small country which lies in South Asia, with a population of around 521,000. The worlds flattest country is home to distinctive white beaches, a large amount of marine life and huge amount of white sharks - the most amount in the world! If you like coconuts, then this is a place you must visit as the coconut tree is the country's national tree, with them dotted everywhere in the country. Don't forget that the Maldives has tropical monsoon climate, the winter monsoon season being from November to March, and then the summer monsoon season being from June to August - making April, May, September and October the best months to travel to the Maldives if you're visiting for some great weather.

This beautiful resort has to be our number 1 choice for hotels in the Maldives. Located in between tropical rainforests and white sand beaches, this private island resort has everything you would imagine when choosing a hotel in the Maldives. This resort has 77 villas, 7 island restaurants, a glass-flored spa, recreation centre and so much more to offer. 2. Gili Lankanfushi Maldives

This stunning resort built on a small coral island, is our 2nd choice on our list of best hotels in the Maldives. Just 20 minutes boat ride away from Malé, this resort makes for a wonderful choice when visiting the Maldives. It has 45 luxury over water villas, private water garden, sun deck, 4 restaurants and a spa. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat in the Maldives then this has to be the one for you. 3. Six Senses Laamu

If you want the full Maldives experience, then the Six Senses Laamu has to be a strong contender. Imagine an idyllic 5 star resort, dolphins swimming around you as you bathe in the warm ocean waters. This barefoot resort (you literally walk around everywhere barefoot) has 5 different restaurants, a unique cooking hut with live stations, a gym, watersports, an open air cinema and your own personal guest experience maker.
