Atlantis Aquaventure is the worlds largest water-park, spanning over 17-hectares with more than 105 slides, attractions and experiences. This adrenaline junkies dream is located next to the Atlantis The Palm with activities for everyone to enjoy. Slides such as Blackout or Leap of Faith with near-vertical drops through shark infested lagoons, to family water coasters such as Shockwave which is the longest family water coaster in the world. There really is something for all ages here to enjoy. Our personal favourite slide was Poseidon's Revenge; a trap door water slide which hit speeds of 60km per hour whilst dropping you into what can only be described as a black vortex. 

During our stay in Dubai, we visited this water park twice and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. We actually got the water park tickets for free: if you stay with Atlantis The Palm you get access to Aquaventure and The Lost Chambers Aquarium for free. So there's one top tip for you if you're looking to indulge in luxury and adventure without dipping too deep into your pockets.

A quick guide to Atlantis Aquaventure:

• Get to the park early, it opens at 9:45am. If you arrive as soon as it opens, it's almost as if you have the whole water park to yourselves. For the first 2 hours, we got on every single water slide in the park without having to wait for more than 5 minutes per ride.
• Make use of the aqua socks, you will need them as the floor will burn your feet. Head to Guest Services inside the park and get your free pair of aqua socks. Resist buying them from shops before entering the park or inside the park, they can cost you upto £20 a pair. These socks can be worn on the rides so it saves you time having to go and get your shoes after going down the slide.
• Don't buy the Aqua Xpress package unless your planning to visit on a weekend. The queues were minimal for every single ride, the most we waited was around 40 minutes which was only the once.
• Lockers can be purchased as soon as you enter the park to keep your belongings inside, they cost 50 AED and can be paid in cash or card so come prepared so you can easily store your belongings.
• Take a waterproof phone case, phones can be taken down the slides so purchase a waterproof phone case before visiting and you can capture some great videos going down the slide.
• Bear in mind that some clothing items may be asked to be removed in-case they get caught in the slide, so try and wear wet-suits or water designed clothing if you're planning on covering up.
