Atlantis Aquaventure is the worlds largest water-park, spanning over 17-hectares with more than 105 slides, attractions and experiences. This adrenaline junkies dream is located next to the Atlantis The Palm with activities for everyone to enjoy. Slides such as Blackout or Leap of Faith with near-vertical drops through shark infested lagoons, to family water coasters such as Shockwave which is the longest family water coaster in the world. There really is something for all ages here to enjoy. Our personal favourite slide was Poseidon's Revenge; a trap door water slide which hit speeds of 60km per hour whilst dropping you into what can only be described as a black vortex.
During our stay in Dubai, we visited this water park twice and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. We actually got the water park tickets for free: if you stay with Atlantis The Palm you get access to Aquaventure and The Lost Chambers Aquarium for free. So there's one top tip for you if you're looking to indulge in luxury and adventure without dipping too deep into your pockets.
A quick guide to Atlantis Aquaventure:
When it comes to eating and drinking inside the Park there are plenty of options; with food stalls containing spiral potato chips to fresh coconut slushies. The prices are fairly reasonable, costing you roughly £7-£8 per meal which is good for inside a park. The food and drink stalls are scattered around the park and super easy to locate. Just don't fill yourself too much on food as you might struggle going down the water slide with such speed afterwards. You can pay cash or card, so just head back to your locker before you go to order your food.
If you're tired of walking, jump onto the 'hop-on hop-off' bus which travels around the park every 5 minutes. It can be useful especially if you're travelling with children who want to head to the other end of the park to try out the slides down there. This service is free and runs all day until the park closes.
Aquaventure also offers some exciting new activities for all the family such as Dolphin Experiences, Sea Lion Experiences and Snorkeling activities. We definitely recommend booking these activities in advance before you head to the park, most of the time the dolphin experience is booked up a few months in advance. Booking certain experiences also provides you a free day pass into the park on the same day as your experiences. As part of the Atlantis Atlas Project, they contribute 1 USD for every marine animal experience participated in by a guest, into partnerships which drive conservation and sustainability projects that help to protect the ocean and our environment, which we love!
